Inspired North East

Exploring sustainable futures for church buildings serving
congregations and communities
Inspired North East is working across Durham Diocese supporting local church congregations considering a church development project.
A professional and practical project to help church communities build a viable future for their buildings – it offers:
- information and support
- help in thinking about wider community uses of the church building
- ideas about improving visitor welcome
- advice in seeking external funding.
Inspired NE is about understanding that church buildings are:
- for sharing with everyone, of all ages and abilities,
- for worship and nurture of faith,
- for cultural events,
- for community and learning activities,
- for welcoming strangers, and
- for telling the story of people and place.

The project has officers in both Durham and Newcastle Dioceses working together sharing their skills across the North East’s churches
