A priest will need skills to develop a parish vision while recognising and building on strong local identity. There are positive opportunities for community engagement especially with local schools. St Aidan's Parish Centre at Herrington offers opportunities for developing a fresh expression of church.

This parish is part of a good and supportive deanery seeking new ways of collaborative working within their deanery development plan.

A new well situated vicarage is almost complete.
