Vacancies - Bowburn (with Tudhoe Grange)
Date Posted: 08/06/2009
These are two 0.5 posts which have been combined because they are both under Extended Episcopal Oversight. They are about 6 miles apart and the wardens have met to work out how one priest can serve both communities.
This has included a proposal to alter the times of service to make this possible.
Bowburn is a community of about 4,600 between Durham city and the A1(M). The determined congregation has recently demolished a church and rebuilt it, to provide a pleasant, multi-purpose space which retains both flexibility and reverence.
Tudhoe Grange is at the end of Spennymoor nearest Bowburn. The post is now in vacancy after a long stable ministry of someone who embraced both evangelical and catholic spiritualities. It is a church in which vestments are worn but incense and benediction are not part of the church's tradition. The church, hall and vicarage are all on the same site, and well cared for. There is a hard working congregation who are looking for someone who is a pastor and encourager. There are also valuable links with local schools on which to build.
There is a link for the Bowburn Parish profile below. We anticipate that the details for the parish profile for Tudhoe Grange will soon be available.
