Bishop's Ceritificates for 2009 Awarded

On Tuesday evening, 16th June, those who have been working towards the Bishop's certificate in Youth Work and Children's Work gathered in the Chapel at Auckland Castle for the award ceremony.

After presenting each of them with their certificate, Bishop Tom Wright led a short service during which he spoke about the importance of encouraging children and young people.

Those awarded the Bishop's Certificate in Children's Work were:
Janet Mary Anderson, Reva Archer, Lynne Arnold, Rose Mary Barnes, Becci Louise Barnett, Abi Emma Barnett, Sarah Barron, Hannah Baxter, Deborah Brown, Victoria Collins, Carol Ann Cooke, Erica Daniels, Melanie Davy, Susan Dent, Moira Elleanor, Vincent Fenton, Christine Hodgson, Carole Hopkinson, Susan Kent, Carole Lloyd, Keith Lumsdon, Francine Moralee, Pauline O'Brien, Joan Palmer, Carol Serrell, Andrea Shaw, Elizabeth Taylor, Angela Taylor Lee, Olwyn Thompson, Linda Watson, Sue Wilkins, and Christine Zamir.

Those awarded the Bishop's Crtificate in Youth Work were:
Steven Guy Bage, John Richard Battye, Keith Cook, Peter Hart, Laura Ruth Henderson, Bolomoni Godly Murali Krishna, Thakane Mathunya, Vivienne Neville, Sophie Claire Newsome, Andy Osenton, Rita Catherine Payne, Amy Elizabeth Playfor, Sarah Stephenson, Elizabeth Stephenson, Ian Matthew Taylor, Mpho Thulo, Ross Wilkinson, and Carol Mary Williamson.

Among the latter were two young women from our link Diocese of Lesotho. Thakane Mathunya and Mpho Thulo (above) are here for a year as volunteers, working in parishes in Barnard Castle Deanery.
