Latest on the Durham Foodbank

02/10/2012

The work done by the Durham Foodbank is still as crucial as ever with 1 in 4 people in our region living below the poverty line. Supporting it's work stops local people going hungry.

Many of the supermarkets within the Diocese support the work of Durham's Foodbank by enabling collections to take place. The next Supermarket collection is on Friday 5th October at Netwon Hall's Co-op.

October 1st - October 15th is Durham Foodbank Fortnight at Durham Town Hall. It is an opportunity for people to take donations of food and also to raise awareness of the work that the Foodbank does.

Up to date Information about the work of the Foodbank, how to get involved and what is needed can be found on their website at http://durham.foodbank.org.uk/

Donations of in-date, non-perishable food are always welcomed but  the current shortages include tins of fruit, rice pudding, and small cartons of milk.
