Vocation

'Step Forward’ is a day conference, for anyone aged 18 to 30 wondering about ordained ministry in the Church of England, hosted by Archbishop Sentamu. It is organised by a team from Cranmer Hall in conjunction with the DDOs of York, Durham and Newcastle, but is open to people of any diocese.

This year it takes place on Saturday 1st March at Bishopthorpe Palace, York. The day includes time to pray, worship, study the Bible, discuss with a range of serving clergy covering both the privileges and challenges of ordained ministry and learn about the selection process. A key part of the event is giving space to those thinking about calling – including space to talk with each other.

The keynote speaker will be the Archbishop of York.

Dr Sentamu said: “If you are a young person thinking about what God is calling you to do, why not come along? Come and use this day to start thinking about what God is calling you to do. Who knows ? It could change your life!”
