Stephen Cherry is the Director of Ministry
As leader of the team of ministry officers, Stephen is responsible for the development and delivery of the Council’s strategy. He is also responsible for Continuing Ministerial Development (CMD) for clergy, is a Residentiary Canon of Durham Cathedral.

Alison Moore is the Authorised Pastoral Assistants Officer and Adviser in Pastoral Care and Counselling
Alison is responsible for the selection, training and support of Authorised Pastoral Assistants. She is available to parishes who seek to develop their pastoral work. She is also responsible for the diocesan College of Counsellors which offers a confidential counselling service to church members and clergy.

Alistair Jenkins is the Stewardship Development Officer
Alistair's role is to work with and support parishes and deaneries throughout the Diocese to meet the challenge of communicating Christian Stewardship as an integral part of church life. He can advise on what type of stewardship programme would be most suitable, and is developing a network of Parish Giving Officers to become local 'champions' for stewardship.

Judy Hirst is the Shared Ministry Development Officer
Judy is responsible for the development of Shared Ministry in parishes across the Dioceses of Durham. She has a similar responsibility in the diocese of Newcastle.

Richard Collins is the Diocesan Director of Ordinands
He is responsible for the discernment of vocations to ordained ministry and oversees training up to ordination. Richard is priest in charge of Lumley Christ Church

Philip Allin is Warden of Spiritual Direction
Philip’s role is to help clergy and others find a suitable spiritual director and to encourage and support those spiritual directors who are on his list.

Joyce Parker is PA to the Director and Secretary to the Council for Ministry
She is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective administration of all operations and supporting the director in managing multiple priorities. Joyce also administers all aspects of CMD and oversees the administration of conferences and training events. In addition she provides support for the Shared Ministry Development Officer.

Anne Hodgson is Senior Departmental Secretary
Anne offers secretarial support to the DDO. She is also responsible for I.T. support and all matters relating to Carter House.

Pamela Wilson is Office Administrator and Secretary at Crossgate Centre
She provides administrative support for the Stewardship Development Officer and the Director of the APA course. Pamela also provides support for the Diocesan Missioner, the Diocesan College of Counsellors and the Anglican Association of Advisers in Pastoral Care and Counselling (Northern Group).
