The Authorised Pastoral Assistants' scheme came of age in July 2007 when Bishop Tom commissioned in the Cathedral the first cohort of the established course. There are now over 60 APAs and APAs in training serving throughout the Diocese.

Authorised Pastoral Assistants prepare on a three year course which focuses on developing their self-awareness and personal confidence while encouraging reflection on the caring role that they are already developing.

For more information regarding our APA scheme, please contact alison.moore@durham.anglican.org
