Ministry Team Officers

Alison Moore is the Authorised Pastoral Assistants Officer and Adviser in Pastoral Care and Counselling

 

 

She is responsible for the selection, training and support of Authorised Pastoral Assistants. She is available to parishes who seek to develop their pastoral work.

Alison is also responsible for the diocesan College of Counsellors which offers a confidential counselling service to church members and clergy.

Michael Beck is the Director of Reader Ministry
 
He is responsible for the selection and training of new Readers and for the support and further development of Readers in service.

Michael is also Priest in Charge of East and West Rainton.

Stephan Cherry is the Director of Ministry

 

 


As leader of the team of ministry officers he is responsible for the development and delivery of the Council’s strategy.

He is also responsible for Continuing Clergy Development (CCD) and facilitating the North East Regional Training Partnership (RTP).

Stephen is a Residentiary Canon of Durham Cathedral.

Robert Lawrance is the Diocesan Director of Ordinands (DDO)

 

 

He is responsible for the discernment of vocations to ordained ministry and oversees training up to ordination.

Robert is also chaplain at Collingwood College.

Jim Francis is the Principal of the Durham Diocese Ordained Local Ministry Team

 

 

He is responsible for all aspects of the training of Ordained Local Ministers.

Jim is also the Bishop’s Advisor for Self Supporting Ministers and course leader of ‘Living Theology Today’.

Jim is the SSM Associate Vicar of Sunderland Minster.

Rick Simpson is the Diocesan Director of Initial Ministerial Education 4-7

 

 

He is responsible for the training of clergy in the first four years of their ordained ministry.

Rick holds the same post in Newcastle diocese where he is also responsible for Reader training after licensing.

Rick is also priest in charge of St Brandon’s Brancepeth.

Richard Collins is the Local Ministry Officer

 

 

He is responsible for encouraging the development of Ordained Local Ministry.

Richard is also co-ordinator of ‘Faith and Life’.

Richard is priest in charge of Greatham St John the Baptist and chaplain of the Hospital of God, Greatham.
