The diocesan vision set by Bishop Michael Turnbull was called Holy - Learning - Witnessing. It means making congregations effective agents of mission and not ecclesiastical heritage societies.

This is done by:

Encouraging discipleship, through the study of scripture, the development of spirituality and worship, and learning to rest on God

  • Enabling people to be aware of God’s call to them to be agents of his transforming love
  • Providing them with the means to respond – for a small number this will be through authorised ministries in the church, but for most people this will be through offering them the means to live and work in God’s world in ways that reflect and build the values of his Kingdom of love and justice.
